In this topic the basic set-up for Dynamics Rental Management will be discussed.

    Reason Codes

Reason codes can be created for different situations. These are most widely used on Lost Rental Orders, Collections, Rented as and Transfer orders.

    Calendar

Rental calendars are used to define the days in a year. This can be done by selecting the applicable days of the week for rental and by blocking or unblocking certain days of the calendar year. For example if rental products out are not used in weekends you can deselect Saturday and Sunday, furthermore you can block specific days such as (inter)national holidays which you will not count for rental. The calendars setup here can be used on rental orders as usage calendars and charging calendars. Also, these calendars can be defaulted as usage calendar or charging calendars on the rental item card.

    Collection modes

Collection modes are used on collection orders, and indicate how the Rental Objects are returned to the company. They can have a default estimated time associated with them to be used for reporting and availability planning

    Cost of Rental codes

If Cost of Rental (CoR) is required and set up and added to item price profiles, the cost of rental will be posted in the project transactions during rental realization as a cost against the project.

    Rental Project Integrations

Using Rental project integrations, you set what project category revenue posts to, you can also set that different items (through item price profiles) can post revenue to different project categories.

    Inventory Types

Here you can create the different Inventory Types for an item. These can be Rental or Sales. For a Rental type, you can also set it to be Cross Rental.
